Staccato Drone is the musical project of Peter Shumaker, a progressive pop artist based in Columbus, Ohio. His sound is shaped by a wide range of influences, including the Flaming Lips, Michael Jackson, Sam Craighead, Jonny Greenwood, Vangelis, Kylie Minogue, and various ’70s prog rock and Italo disco artists, resulting in layered, cinematic music with a strong melodic core.
Before launching Staccato Drone, Shumaker toured the states with the Christian college-rock band 24idaho and was involved in several local musical projects, including Heavy Mole, Feature Films, Bigshot, and Surfer. He released his debut self-titled EP in 2021, and his first full-length album is set to arrive in Fall 2025 via Head2Wall records.
